Simon Libsig

Simon Libsig, born in 1977, from Baden/CH, has won various poetry slams and the Swiss Comedy Award. In 2014 his first novel “Leichtes Kribbeln” was published by Knapp.

After his studies in political science in Zurich an Paris, he worked as a journalist for Swiss Radio DRS, before deciding to make a living from his writing.

The daily newspaper NZZ calls him a “magician with words”. Swiss television says “Simon Libsig is a master of the high art of story telling”. And the popular daily paper Blick says “Simon Libsig dribbles with words like Christiano Ronaldo with a football”.

With his texts, he has not only won numerous poetry slams but also the Swiss Comedy Award 2009 (audience award). Seven CDs, four stage programmes, radio and newspaper op-eds as well as story workshops with over 2000 students – Simon Libsig is never bored.  On April 23, 2012, his first children’s book “Auf, zum Mond!” was published by Echtzeit. In the fall of 2014, Simon Libsig will make his debut as a novelist, before publishing his second children’s book shortly before Christmas. He is currently touring Switzerland with the cartoonist Nicolas d’Aujourd’hui from Basel with their programm “Alltagsmonster”.
